Louvre painting “Mona Lisa” was smeared with products

In the Louvre in Paris, a visitor has stained a famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci’s “La Gioconda”, also known as “Mona Lisa”, with eggs, cream, mayonnaise, ketchup, jam and other foodstuffs.

A bald man in a mask, while being in a large crowd, threw all the listed products into the famous canvas.

The security of the cultural institution soon detained him, and the museum staff began cleaning the premises. The identity and motives of the vandal who soiled the world-famous work are unknown. Perhaps he was preparing to cook some unusual dish, but, for some reason, lost his temper.

At the same time, the painting itself was not affected, as it was protected by a crystal plate.
