Scientists are preparing to open the cave, which may contain the most dangerous flesh-eating bacteria

An international research group has scheduled the opening of the Phobos Cave, which is located near the South Pole of the Earth, on May 8. Scientists believe that the most ancient and very dangerous carnivorous bacteria can live in it, which in ancient times almost doomed all life on Earth.

The researchers started moving towards the cave at the beginning of spring, they will soon reach their destination and start working. It is planned that they will drill a several meters deep hole through thick layer of ice, behind which many surprises can be hidden.

Experts say that the bacteria they plan to find are very dangerous, and infection will most likely cause a very painful death, but there is also an encouraging factor: it will be a quick one.
